Graham Shelton was all over the place in 2024. Shredding as much as he could and grabbing podiums throughout the entire season. Team Manager Jason Wilson caught up with him to ask a few rapid fire questions and see what he has in store for 2025. Check it out below!
ZAP: What have you been up to this winter?
Graham: This winter, I’ve got lots of work. I do a little bit of everything for work, honestly. And yes all while I still grind away at my second year of college. And of-course I’m always trying to squeeze fun into most things I do.
ZAP: Any travel plans for 2025?
Graham: Well, I was blessed enough to visit most of the Skim USA tour stops this year including Outer Banks and Dewey Beach. Also, I was able to go to Brazil with the Skim USA team, Costa Rica with my friends, and Colorado for the first time, so it’s been a whirlwind of a year. In 2025 I’m hoping to make the rounds again on the tour and plan another trip with my friends, maybe Hawaii maybe Costa Rica again maybe somewhere in Europe who knows haha.
ZAP: What was your best skim session in 2024? Where?
Graham: Hands down, without a doubt the last day of the Dewey Beach contest right after the contest ended was exactly why I love skimboarding. Some of the best pros all just skimming fire skim for fun. Constantly one upping each other all with their own unique style was just amazing to watch and be a part of. I loved every second of that session.
ZAP: Do you have any Movie recommendations? TV shows?
Graham: Oooo that’s a tough one. Cobra Kai is not a good show, but I’ve watched every season haha. If you need something to watch, I was definitely entertained.
ZAP: What’s something you do to stay in skim-shape?
Graham: Running, just run.
ZAP: What are some of your bad habits?
Graham: Not doing things. You’ll regret things you didn’t do more than the ones you did…or so they say.
ZAP: What can you not live without?
Graham: Board sports, all kinds. I love ‘em. And my girlfriend Chloe. She’s great.
ZAP: What’s your favorite wax?
Graham: I’m not too picky about my waxes. Anything that’ll make me stick. Sticky Bumps and Bubble Gum are definitely up there. I’m not a huge fan of oily waxes, like cold water waxes.
ZAP: Do you have any new tricks on the horizon?
Graham: There’s always a ton of tricks I’d love to stick. I’ve gotten my feet on nightmare flips, just a normal kickflip, tre flip would be sick, and I’ve been dreaming of the day somebody lands a 900shuv. If it’s me, then great but I’d be happy to see anyone land one. Gotta get the clip or it didn’t happen! There’s a few more funky things like a shuv grab but with the grab, you throw the board down the other direction. 5 shuv grab would be super cool. I’ll leave it at that. I’ve got ideas but I don’t want to say anymore.
ZAP: Any crypto advice to those trying to make a quick buck?
Graham: Haha uhhh my crypto advice is don’t buy crypto, buy stocks! #ilovewalmart #dogecointothemoon
