Windy, Weather, and Wins!
The Sea Bright Skim Bash, the third stop on the Skim USA Zap Amateur Tour, was held this weekend in New Jersey. The normal two day contest was shortened to just Saturday due to the approach of the remnants of tropical storm Bill’s expected arrival on Sunday. The effects of the storm were apparent on Saturday with stiff westerly winds. Sloppy conditions throughout the contest did not stop the Zap team. Sam Mccoy took his first professional win with big airs off of the chop. Gordon Levine rounded out the top three in the pro division. Lucas Mccoy skimmed heat after heat and finished with two big wins in the Sr. Men’s and Semi Pro divisions. That makes it back to back semi pro wins for Lucas on the tour! Casey Ritzer picked up the win in the Jr. Men’s division on the day after his 15th birthday. And finally our newest team rider, Sydney Pizza finished second in the Jr. Women’s division. Next stop on the tour is in the Outer Banks on July 18! (words from Erica Ritzer)
