Shore LB Throw Down
The first contest of the Skim USA tour kicked off this weekend in Stuart Beach, Florida. In its second year of being apart of the tour, the contest had a great turnout. Many people made the commute to Florida for the contest and the weather surely didn’t disappoint. We had clear sunny skies the whole weekend and it made for a good showing at the beach. The conditions were less than ideal but all the contestants made the most of it. There was some crazy tech going down and even a few waves were caught when the tide was high enough. It is easy to see the level of riding among the younger contestants rising to new levels than ever before. The sport is definitely in good hands with the up and coming talent.
There were a few standout riders this weekend from the Zap team that look poised to have a strong season. One of our up and coming Professional riders Matt Buchanan was killing it all weekend and ended up with a second place finish. We are excited to see what he is going to do this year. In the Amateur division, we had multiple riders on the podium: Nick Turdo (3rd Place Boys), Sydney Pizza (1st Place Jr. Womens), Julian Koebek (3rd Place Jr. Mens), Jared Dugan (3rd Place Mens), Richard Leydon (4th Place Mens), and Cole Hutchinson (2nd Place Sr. Mens). We are proud of all our riders and can’t wait for the next contest!
