We recently took a road trip up to Virginia Beach to take part in the Skimmunity Showdown at Sandbridge beach. There was a nice showing at the event with 80 competitors that traveled from all over to compete this weekend. We were treated with great weather for the event and some fun skim for the riders to play with.
In the Amateur division, there was a few standouts that impressed over the weekend. Sydney Pizza had a few awesome heats over the weekend where she advanced all the way to the Semi-Pro's Semi's. She was throwing down a combination of old school maneuvers with great tech to advance. Eoin Lally was performing at a high level and looks primed to step up to the Pro's in the near future. He won Semi-Pro which is the most stacked division in the Amateur division.
In the Professional division, there was one rider that seemed head and heels over the rest of the competition and that was Gerardo Valencia. It was truly fun to watch him bust out all the tech in the book with crazy combos and highly difficult air maneuvers. He took home first Place and held it down for the Zap team!
We look forward to seeing everyone at the next stop of the Skim USA tour in OBX! Be sure to sign up now.. https://liveheats.com/obxskimcamps

Hi, I’m a west. Last skimmer. I ride zap. I skip in LA seal beach and sometimes Laguna. Every year I get a vacation with my kids and we like to get away from our life. We enjoy Florida. I know the skim waves in summer can be kind of flat often times. June 13-20 do you think you could give me the best advice as to where? Can you point me in the right direction lol. Just a single parent so I want to try and plant myself with these guys so we don’t drive up and down A1A lol. I figured I’d ask the best crew for advice!
