Zap: You’ve been on the Fuse for a few years now, right? What are some of your favorite features that keep you coming back to it season after season?
Casey: Yeah! I've been consistently riding the Fuse for a couple of years now. It's been a great all-around board, especially for competing and not being so sure of what conditions to expect at different contest locations. One main difference I noticed when I first started riding it was SPEED! Speed is vital for progressing your skill in this sport so I can confidently say it's helped improve my maneuvers and even making it to waves that are out farther.
Zap: What do you look for in a board and how does the Fuse measure up to what you need?
Casey: I always make sure whatever board I choose will perform well in a variety of conditions. I really only like to stick to one board per season and for each contest, that way I get confident and comfortable on my equipment knowing exactly how it will react in each type of wave.
Zap: What are the best conditions for the Fuse?
Casey: I feel like the Fuse has been optimal for me in waves 1-4 feet. I've ridden it in choppy-clean conditions, everything from liners, to wraps and tech tricks. Like I said earlier, it’s a great all-around board!
Zap: What size Fuse do you ride and why?
Casey: I'm currently on the medium, but my new Fuse will be a small. My last board order was a size bigger than I'm used to simply because I wanted to see if the additional volume would make a difference for me. It did for speed and float! This year I'll be on a small because I'm looking to do tighter turns and improve my tech tricks.
Zap: What type of rider would you suggest the Fuse to?
Casey: Truthfully, I'd suggest the Fuse to anyone. From Beginner to Pro, this board will help you get to the next level, but can work wherever your local skim spot is.
Zap: If you had to sum up the Fuse in one sentence, what would it be?
Casey: The Fuse is a versatile board for almost any level skimboarder who is ready to rip!
Zap: How does it compare to other boards in the Zap line-up?
Casey: Most of the boards have a certain type of wave or ocean conditions that the board is built for, but the Fuse is built for almost any type of wave and ocean condition.
