If you attended Skim USA competitions or made it to Oktoberfest this year, you probably saw super grom Brody Chandler Thompson, @chickenlittleskims. One of those kids you ride with and immediately know there's something special going on. He has that same look in his eyes that Blair Conklin and other great skimboarders had as a kid. He’s a bit quiet but is always watching and taking it in. He's a little sponge soaking up all the angles, nuances, and personalities that skimboarding has put in front of him. You can see it in his approach and the way he navigates through the line up.
Originally from Washington DC, Brody was brought up skimboarding with Alley Oop during his breaks from school at the beach. A few summers ago, his parents lined him up for a private lesson with Lucas McCoy at Gordons Pond and that was it, he was hooked! Brody was bit by the skimboarding bug and has not stopped since. He skims, surfs, and skates whenever he has the opportunity and recently relocated to his beach home in Rehoboth Beach, DE with his family. Inspired by Lucas and now coached by Sydney Pizza with plenty of guidance and inspiration from Delaware's finest riders, there is no stopping him! He practices a-lot and truly loves to ride.
