Team rider Derek Shenton takes 1st in the professional division at the LBS Classic!
We hope you had the chance to come out to the beach in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea this past weekend while the first annual LBS Skim Classic was going off. Our Skimboarding competition was blessed with small skim waves, sunny skies, and winds that held off most of the day making for a very enjoyable time at the beach.
The competition energy was flowing with 83 competitors, music by Kulcha Shok, and a great running commentary from Alley-Oop owners Corey Mahoney and Jason Wilson. Both Skim USA directors Harry Wilson and Skim City Greg were in attendance to help set up heats and tabulate which helped things run smoothly and solidified this inaugural south Florida Skimboarding event.
Competition in the Jr. Mens, Mens, and Womans division was fierce with some of the most entries. The Pros amped the crowd onto their feet every round by making the most out of the small conditions busting airs and finding lines where most other skimmers could not.
Aruba Beach Cafe provided a nice competitor lunch, Sun Bum was in the house letting beach goers sample their new pro line of sun screen, and the Dunkelvolk crew brought their tent down to provide shade for competitors and spectators alike.
