Team rider Bruno Sá has been absolutely killing it this past year. He recently was sent two new awesome boards. Mega got up with him for an interview on the shapes he chose and his plans for this year. Check it out!

To start, why do they call you Biba? haha
Ahaha. We value fun times and jokes. With that said, we give each others nicknames that look bad, but without any intention. We are just having fun. That name started with a friend, and after that all the guys starting calling the others with that name.
How tall are you? Weight?
About 160lbs and 5’11”
Where do you normally skim?
Empada, at Boa Viagem Beach.
What kind of wave is that?
Frontals and liners, not so big but with some barrels. Good for tricks.

What is the differences between these two boards?
The Wilson model I like for liners and frontals, but still doing good maneuvers even on harder conditions. The Boomhower model I like more on frontal waves, where I can go further out and do maneuvers with speed.
As u can see, Zap changed a little bit the way they make the skimboards. They are now epoxy, textured decks… Do you like it? What is the biggest difference between the new ones and the older ones?
I like it! The differences between those new ones and the older ones are the resistants. They are lighter and the finish is textured. Its great for a better performance.
What kind of waves do you prefer the most? What is your favorite spot?
My favorite kind of wave is a barreled and longer wave, where you can surf longer.
My favorite beach is tamandaré, really good for tricks. I also like Sununga and Espirito Santo.
How was the UST in Sununga?
This year was one of the best contests that I ever been. Tons of good waves and good vibes…
The contest was amazing, with a very high level of riding. You meet people from all around the world and make new friends and you see some old friends. Also it is always nice to be with the ZAP family.
Someone told me you were the king of Kuduro in Sununga? haha
Ahaha, Ya I was the first one dancing Kuduro in Sununga with the Kalemba crew, but I don’t feel like the king of Kuduro yet haha. The Kalembas are the kings of the dance for sure.
Are you planning competing or going on trips outside of Brazil this year?
I really want to go, but I’m not sure if I have the funds to go.

hahahaha, Valorizamos muito as brincadeiras e cada “tirada de onda”. Com isso, chamamos por nomes que aparentam ser pejorativos, mas sem essa intenção e sim a da brincadeira propriamente dita. Daí,esse nome começou por um amigo meu, e depois espalhou pro resto da galera.. hahaha

Na praia de boa viagem, no pico da Empada.

Frontais e liners, não tao grandes (onda media), uma onda que a formação é tubular,boa para tricks.

Como são elas e suas principais diferenças?
Pro Jason Wilson: gostei dela em ondas de liners e frontais, podendo manobrar bem a prancha nas ondas com dificuldades.
Pro Boomhower: gostei dela em ondas frontais, podendo buscar ondas longe e manobrar com rapidez.
A Zap como você reparou, modificou a forma e alguns materiais de construção. Agora são epoxy, com o top da prancha texturado. Você gosta? quais as diferenças em relação ás mais antigas?
Gostei sim!
As diferenças em relação ás antigas, são que as pranchas atuais estão mais resistentes, mais leves e com um bom acabamento, tornando melhor desempenho para o atleta.
Qual seu tipo de onda preferia? qual a sua praia preferida?
Minha onda preferida é uma onda tubular e longa, onde pode manter mais tempo nela. Minha praia preferida é tamandaré, bom para Tricks. mas gosto de muitas outras praias como Sununga e Espiro santo.
Como foi o UST na Sununga?
Esse ano o campeonato da Sununga foi um dos melhores que eu já fui. Com boas ondas, vibe boa… O evento foi fantástico, com alto nível. você encontra pessoas do mundo inteiro, fazendo amizades com pessoas novas e rever velhos amigos. e claro é sempre bom estar com a família ZAP.
Ouvi falar que você foi o rei do Kuduro na sununga? ahah
hahahahaha, eu fui o primeiro a dançar Kuduro na Sununga, junto com o pessoal do Kalemba, mas nao considero o rei do Kuduro ainda, hahaha. sem duvidas o pessoal do Kalemba sao os verdadeiros reis da dança.
Você vai em algumas competições ou viagens fora do Brasil esse ano?
Queria muito ir, mas nao tenho certeza ainda por conta dos meus recursos.
