On January 14th and 15th, the Melaque Skim Magia competition took place at Laguna del Tule, a spot nestled in San Patricio, Mexico- an area locals often call Melaque.
Yahir Valencia and Alex Yokley put up best performances for Team Zap taking third place in the men's and women's professional divisions!
The contest featured 29 professional riders, with 21 men and 8 women. Riders in attendance included those from Brazil, Portugal, Mexico as well as Delaware, Florida, and California. This contest was the first time the United Skim Tour has returned to Mexico since 2015. Further, this is the first international stop ever for the professional women’s division of the United Skim Tour.
Yahir Valencia, who finished 2nd on the United Skim Tour in 2022 put on an amazing performance, which included the biggest backside barrel of the contest! Alex Yokely took her solid backside turn to Mexican waters- continuing her climb to the top of the pro ranks. We look forward to seeing much more from these two this season!
