This year’s Oktoberfest was not quite like the past few. On the first day the conditions were very tough. There was minimal swell that was very troughy with extreme high tides. The second day was a bit better with the bigger swell in the water allowing for more of a face to the wave. Zap highlights include Pro Women’s riders Casey Kiernan taking 2nd place while Ellen Wood took 4th place overall. Recent transplant Naji Taha skimmed extremely well taking 1st in his division and 2nd in the very competitive Semi-Pro division. Casey Ritzer took 4th place in his division as well.
